Taylor // Class of 2016 | Maryland Senior Photography

Gosh darn it these senior girls make it so hard to pick just a few photos! I met Taylor and her mom for the first time the day of our session and very quickly realized that I was talking to two quality ladies. Not only is Taylor gorgeous and athletic, (her smile could light up a room) she is smart too. Watch out world!! Mary, Taylor’s mom, is so proud of her daughter and I’m sure was remembering how not so long ago she was just a tiny little thing with a big smile, bright eyes and bouncy curls. The years are so short… But Taylor’s future is bright and I have no doubt that she will go very far! It was a pleasure spending time with this special young lady. She is so sweet and humble. I think she was a little bit worried about how to act in front of the camera but she quickly found her groove and let me tell you she rocked it! (she’s a natural) Taylor it was an honor to meet you – congratulations on graduating this Spring and I can’t wait to hear where God takes you next! XO

Abby // Class of 2016| Maryland Senior Photography

I have to say that I have been incredibly blessed to photograph some amazing high school graduates. Abby is no exception. Her sweet spirit, maturity, natural grace and beauty made my job so easy. We chatted about sports (she plays soccer and swims) and what she wants to study in college (therapy). And then she totally blew me away when I asked about the necklace she was wearing. It is a beautiful ring on a delicate chain that her best friend Teressa gave her. Teressa tragically passed away in January of 2014 when she was hit by a car while walking. I was so affected by the fact that in a time when Abby could easily be focused on her own dreams and future, she chose to remember and honor her dearest friend who’s life was cut short.

Last month on the eve of the anniversary of Teressa’s passing, Abby wrote on Facebook: “It doesn’t feel right going through my last year of highschool without my partner in crime. But as much as I wish you were here taking it all in with me, I know you’re much happier where you are. Your ring is my reminder that you will always be a part of me and I will carry you with me until I see you again. I love you to the moon and back.” Not only that, but Abby wore Teressa’s favorite color, teal, for our photos. This is just a glimpse of the fact that Abby is beautiful inside and out. It was an honor to spend time with her and capture at this season in her life. And that is why I love my job – because I come away inspired and awed by wonderful, beautiful people every, single time. Thank you, Abby! I wish you all the best in the days ahead. I know Teressa is cheering you on!

Christian and Kati | Pennsylvania Engagement Photography

She was working at her job as a nurse. He came in to do some repair work at the facility. I’m pretty sure it might have been a case of love at first sight and it didn’t take long for them to realize they wanted to be together.  Getting to know each of them a little big over the course of our session, I can see why they would each be smitten with the other. And they clearly are.

A few weeks after I started chatting with Kati about wedding photography, she told me some exciting news that was going to put wedding plans on hold. I think you can guess what that news was! So we incorporated it into our engagement session. We meet in the cute little town of Gettysburg and then headed to the battlefields on a beautiful autumn day. Christian and Kati also had their adorable Golden Retriever, Cooper with them and he was such a good pup. I am so happy for this wonderful little soon-to-be growing family and it was an honor to capture some precious moments for them.

When I put the word out on Facebook that I would be at the beach and was available for sessions, I immediately got a response from Jessie. She was SO excited because the beach is her favorite place to be with her family and she had always wanted a photo session there. I was so happy that timing worked out and that I was able to meet this sweet, adorable family. Jordyn and Devyn are such beautiful girls and I loved how they doted on Griffin, who was quite the little ham once he warmed up. You can tell he is well taken care of! Sooo cute. It was a perfect beach evening with a wonderful family and I loved it. Thank you Jessie for sending me that message. I am honored to have met you and your lovelies and hope our paths cross again soon!

Leo + Mary | Alexandria, VA Engagement and Wedding Photography

We met on a lovely summer evening in Old Town Alexandria. I got there early and scoped out some cobblestone streets and quaint architecture. It was a Sunday and everyone was out on the town enjoying the fine weather and care free days of the season. It was going to be a great night, I could tell, and it was! Leo and Mary were so easy to work with. Leo was charming and and Mary was elegant and together they are a perfect couple. We walked and talked and they danced and laughed and looked beautiful. Leo scored big with a gorgeous spot by the water to finish our shoot. He promised the walk would be worth it and it was! The sun set over the water and we went our separate ways… they holding hands and me with a smile in my heart. A perfect night. Thank you both!
