Though I had had an interest in photography for many years, I didn’t get my first “real” camera until my youngest daughter was a baby. It was a Nikon N75 film SLR. I shot in Auto mode and had all my pictures developed with white borders. I still love a lot of those photos. When I got my first DSLR, I taught myself how to shoot in manual. With my kids as my primary subjects I learned about light, angles and posing and started to figure out a style that was my own. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share my gift with others, and hence Jonalee Earles Photography was born.
If I’m honest, I’m a practical girl. While I enjoy trendy things as much as anyone, when it comes down to it, I tend to go back to the classics. I want my photos to be timeless, beautiful and real. My goal is to produce high quality images that capture the beauty of my subjects as they really are. I believe that each one of you possesses a beauty all your own and I know it comes out best when you are simply yourself.
If I’m photographing your wedding, chances are I will be shedding some tears. If I’m photographing your newborn, chances are I will be remembering my own babies like it was yesterday and marveling at the tiny perfection that is your own. If I’m photographing your family, chances are I will be smiling from ear to ear while I edit your photos because your kids are so stinking cute. If I’m photographing a graduating senior, chances are I’ll be thinking about how quickly my own children are getting ready to spread their wings and fly and I’ll want to just pause everything to enjoy where they are.
So many fleeting precious moments that are so worth capturing before they are gone. I count it a complete honor to be invited into your precious world and I can’t wait to share this gift with you!
