Brenton + Kimberly | Maryland Wedding Photography

This wedding had all the feels. And when I say all, I mean ALL. Because you see the day of Brenton and Kimberly’s wedding it was raining. And not just raining, but pouring a torrential, flooding deluge. They were to have an outdoor wedding at the lovely Glen Ellen Farm with the reception in the tent. The rain back up plan was to move the ceremony inside the tent. There was only one problem…the tent was flooding. Things looked pretty grim. In fact it was such that for a brief moment it was considered whether the wedding should be moved to the following morning.

Well Brenton and Kimberly were not about to let a little (or a lot of) rain stop them from getting married! They had been waiting and dreaming of this day for a long time. So when a small army of volunteers pitched in to clear the water out of the tent (think brooms and shop-vacs) things began to turn around. The wedding would go on as scheduled…just a bit later.

All I can say is that by looking at photos you would never know any of this was happening. When I arrived at the venue, Kimberly was smiling and laughing, her mom and sisters were cheerful and upbeat (which is no surprise knowing the Glab family!) – she was getting married TODAY! The rain even let up enough to allow us to get outside for portraits and the porches on the front of the venue provided perfect cover and a beautiful backdrop. I think it’s a pretty good sign when a couple is faced with a very challenging circumstance on the day of their wedding and handle it with such grace and joy. I’m sure there were a few moments of tears and maybe a tiny bit of disappointment that things didn’t go as planned, but Brenton and Kimberly’s priority was pledging their love no matter what – and they did!  I would even argue that despite the challenges, the day was perfect. Kimberly looked absolutely gorgeous…her hair, make up, flowers, the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, all of the carefully planned details and even the stormy backdrop came together to create a stunning display of happiness, beauty and love. There were so many personal touches and touching moments…I could truly go on and on.  It was an amazing and very memorable day. Honestly, I don’t think things could have turned out better!

Huge shout out to all of the vendors and volunteers who were so flexible and did everything they could to make this day what it was: AJDJ, Debbie from Glen Ellen, the caterers and family and friends. I know Brenton and Kimberly are so grateful!

Brenton and Kimberly, I was so honored to have been part of your wedding. Your attention to detail, your graciousness and joy, your delight in each other and your families, your desire to bless your guests and so much more created such a wonderful atmosphere and the perfect backdrop to your love for each other. I am privileged to have been there to capture the moments for you. Many blessings on you as you continue on your journey together.
