Mac + Taylor | Maryland Wedding Photography

Where to begin with this couple? The fact that they are high school sweethearts, or that they gave each other the sweetest wedding gifts (seriously not a dry eye in the place when Taylor opened the gift from Mac), or that they wrote their own vows, or how much they love Mac’s nephew who was the most adorable little ring bearer EVER!, or that Taylor made her own bouquet and planned her wedding down to the last beautiful detail, or that they are surrounded by some pretty awesome friends….I don’t know. This wedding had all the feels. To top it off, they were blessed with a gorgeous day at their beautiful outdoor venue, Glen Ellen Farm…after days of rain! Taylor looked absolutely gorgeous and Mac tried on his best GQ face but seriously couldn’t keep a smile from creeping in because he was just so happy. They are perfect for each other and anyone can see the love in their eyes. This one is for keeps!

Mac and Taylor, I can’t tell you how special it was to be at your wedding, to witness your love for each other and to capture these moments for you. The best is yet to come!! XO

David + Katie | Maryland Wedding Photography

In one weekend I had two weddings where the bride and groom were high school sweethearts. The first was David and Katie’s wedding on their farm in Damascus, MD. David and Katie actually were married at the courthouse a year ago but wanted to still have a wedding celebration with friends and family. There was something really special about the fact that having been together for so long and even having been married for a year, they still wanted to celebrate their vows in the traditional way with their loved ones around them. Making it even more special was that the wedding ceremony would be held on the Kelpy farm which has been in David’s family for years.

The theme of family was so strong. At the rehearsal dinner the night before, David’s mom and brothers cooked a homemade feast for the family and bridal party. They even invited me to sit and eat with them though I was there to take photos. The “cake” for the reception was a delicious homemade apple pie that David’s mom made that morning! The caterer was a family friend, the florist was a family friend, the dessert cookies were made by family, the wedding coordinator was a long time friend of both Katie and David…the whole evening truly felt like a celebration of love and family and friendship! You can’t be around the Kelpy’s for long without feeling like part of a big happy clan.

The weather forecast was threatening rain all weekend but it held off just enough so that David and Katie could say their vows by their beautiful pond. It did mean a few umbrellas and a lot of guests wearing rain boots, but it was totally worth it! Katie was a stunning bride and so calm and endearing and David was the ultimate kind and gracious (and dapper) host – making sure everyone was doing fabulous and enjoying themselves. Everything came together perfectly and it was a lovely evening with lovely people – I was so honored to be there. David and Katie, I wish you much joy in your marriage and may the blessings of friends and family continue to be a source of happiness in your future together. XO
